Plodding exposition - show don’t tell ! - and when it came to the demons, I just couldn’t care. Pure evil is BORING. 

I did read most of it but then skipped to the end. Implausible and morally muddled. The sudden shacking up of mc with detective with no prelude or explanation was weird and it continued downhill from there. The publishing background seemed promising but also unrealistic - a book manuscript going into instant production with NO editing? What?

This was too weird and dark for me at the moment. And while I enjoyed Carey’s unusual way with words in Little, here it just began to seem annoyingly mannered. It didn’t speak of the character for me, just him. 

Had a notion I wanted to reread the first two books and go on in tge series. But I got bored with the battle parts in Crystal Cave and gave up. 

I was interested after reading LMMs bio but after a few stories and poems I’d had enough. Blatant repackage of random stories to try to cash in on a popular character. And I don’t even like Anne much after she gets married and gives up writing. She’s dull. 

The only poem that wasn’t unbearably twee was the last one   More of Walters war writing could have been interesting. 

I got about halfway through this. I was interested in the musical setting but there was not enough of that and too much of the main characters' silly psychological games. The heroine was impossibly beautiful and talented, but with the emotional intelligence of a shrimp.

I saw rave reviews of this but it was written in a cutesy manner that would have made me want to throw up when I was 18. Plus, in the early chapters at least, too much speculation. “Bede must have done and thought this and that” — no he mustn’t. 

This seemed a very good concise introduction to Buddhist principles and practices to awaken compassion. It just was not what I wanted to be reading at the moment but I may come back to it.

I got about a third of the way through, and decided that was enough. I don't like whimsical books about the child Antichrist. It's not really an amusing concept.

I got 2/3 of the way through, but then I read the ending on Wikipedia and decided I did not need to bother with the rest. 

I do not get on with time travel novels which are just about watching the past like virtual reality TV and not actually interacting with it. On top of that, the story in the past was dull, and the people in the present day were unpleasant. Absolutely no idea what Dick and Vita ever saw in each other, and I would not want to be married to either of them.

And finally, how dumb do you have to be to take a drug that will cause you to roam all over the place, mind elsewhere, body doing who knows what? It's remarkable it took so many "trips" before a fatal accident occurred. 

(If this is meant to be a cautionary tale about getting caught up in a fictional story and losing touch with the real world, at least reading books does not involve such obvious physical dangers. Geez.)
