I found it silly and unconvincing. Persephone and Artemis as girl buddies? Atalanta was constantly tingling with energy. Careless with language, such as using the word „approbation „ incorrectly. 

I read the first chapter and the style was too shrill and buffoonish for me.

I got some chapters into this but it just wasn't grabbing me. I want to try her mystery about the sheep instead.

Just ... no. Quirky sparkly magical non-realism is not for me.

I found this disappointingly dry -- I was expecting something more along the lines of Putting It Together, the wonderful book about the making of Sunday in the Park with George. Instead of quoting actual interviews from people involved with the show, the author merely summarized such material, which quickly became very boring. And he documented in excruciating detail every scrap of paper but didn't give a sense of the life and excitement of creating a show. A few interesting tidbits but I couldn't be bothered with most of it.

This was very interesting and I'd like to finish, but it was just too long for me at the moment. I need more than 3 weeks, or else a good dose of uninterrupted time.

This was an attempt from a StoryGraph out of my comfort zone category. I was bored by the rich people's problems after a few chapters.

I skim read this for the most useful and relevant information. I do believe emotional neglect is real and formative but needs more study. Some of what wenn describes here is emotional abuse. Most interesting to me is the category of well meaning but neglected themselves parents but that is given the least detailed attention. 

The joggest aha was about my lack of self discipline and the hope that o can solve that not by self criticism but by better self care. 

Some enjoyable bits but ultimately too pretentious. 

I wanted to try a Maeve Binchy and was intrigued by the heart clinic setting, as I just read another book by a heart doctor -- but I ended up finding the novel dull with its strangely un-moving cataloguing of events happening to various people. They remained just characters on a page to me and I decided to stop spending time with them.
