I loved the Giver! I was at the edge of my seat for each word. However, this book took me away. I kept thinking to myself I wished that I was this brave, curious, and a truth seeker like Kira! I strongly recommend this one! But please read the books in Order!

Quick read! Still my favorite poem is “in and out of time.”

Wow! The way she spoke about her father put me into my feelings. I was just shocked and never really related to memoir like this one. I strongly recommend this book. I don't want to give too much away.

Literally a flow of consciousness that was understandable! So many quote worthy parts and things that I didn’t know that would help me understand myself and others

This book was more than a memoir, it was personal stories about being apart of the Negro Bourgeois with facts. This book was what I needed and what other black people should read in order to understand being black with economical privilege! Great book!

I finished it didn't I!

I thought this book took me on a spiritual journey of how to see the goodness in the world and how not to search for it. I also received a lot of lessons on patience.

I recommend everyone to read this book! It is so funny and childish! I was laughing most of the time because astrophysics and Pluto lovers are sooo petty! I loved it!
