This is the second book the first book Fifth Season! I found myself not really getting into the first book but this was my favorite of the series so far. I kept founding similarities in my life and in Essun’s life. Every time the author spoke about her “re-twisting” her hair or referring to her “locs” as “locs” and not “dreadlocks” my heart great in size.

What I love most about this book is the story of Essun and her daughter: both Orogenes on two different paths of understanding the world and how they fit in the world. This is a must-read. I do warn that you may get confused with the first book and all of the characters. This book is much easier to follow. However, some of those characters reintroduce themselves in this book.

Essun had a responnnnnsiblity that Alabakzer gave her!!! How could he but such a feat on her? I was on the edge of my seat!

Nassun internal struggle with who she is (Orogene) and how her father is (Still) noteworthy. It must be difficult to want to be who you are while pleasing someone you love. And also the person’s love you do want you to be who you are. I think to some degree, that is the human condition. Stuck in-between pleasing others and also pleasing ourselves. The author has a gift of displaying complexities of emotions that is applicable to the world that we are currently living in.

….The small child (Oja) who follows Essun may be the biggest mystery that I want to know… Maybe he will help her with the moon?

I was not expecting the killer to be who the killer was... I b
Thought religion and egos were the reasons why people were being killed. This is by far my favorite book by the author.

What do I think about The Shape of Water? Well, I think the book was written well and I appreciated the writing style. I was constantly as when the action was going to happen and I thought it was a fish porn but it added to the book pilot. Because I saw the movie, there were some moments in the book that was not in the movie that frustrated me. However, that is a reflection of me and how I process books that get turned into movies and nothing to do with the actual production of movies. I enjoyed The Shape of Water movie.

The reason why this book was given a 2 out of 5 stars is that it was a slow book for me to read and some stories in the book could have been developed more in my opinion. For example, her friend who was gay... I wanted more about his story. I also wanted to know about what happened to the marriage of her black friend and her husband.

Gabriella Union!!!! You are a vision! This may be my favorite book written by an actress!!! I love how liberated Union made me feel and demanded that women take ownership of our bodies. Their are so many stories and themes that it is difficult to put in words.

Tyson’s voice makes the words come to life. My favorite section of the book was the spheres part. You learn a lot about astrophysics when reading this book and the examples are lifeeeeeeee.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is great as usual! Although I am no physicist, his books make it easy for all non-scientists to follow along!

I don't think I will read this book again.

THIS IS A MUST READ!!! Dear Martin is an inventive and nice spin on viewing police brutality, love, privilege, friendship, racism, and society's bullshit!
