My favorite part about this book is that the narrator was Neil Degrasse Tyson. Learning that one day our galaxy will one day merge with nearby galaxy, Andromeda, was mind blowing. This short book explains life forms on other planets and life possibilities.

This book explores earlier philosophies theories of light and atoms. I was/am must intrigued by the missing information and data that we will miss or have missed in our cosmic history.

I think the graphic novel did a wonderful job of telling the story as close to the book as possible. I wish that Grover in the book was also Black in the graphic novel. I didn't see a lot of characters of color in the graphic novel. I know that there are not a lot of POC characters in the books so far as I am reading them currently. The illustrations were wonderful and helped me put a visual image to what I was reading in the book.

I can not rave enough about this book. Every person needs to read this book. This book outlines in detail and scientific facts of the importance of sleep in vitro, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and later adulthood. This book points out the importance of sleep and the dangers of not getting quality sleep; the effects on physicians, truck drivers, and students who pull "all-nighters." This book outlines the benefits of having school start later in the morning for children in school and how it affects their REM sleep. While reading this book my mind was completely blown away by the things the author was stating and the awesome footnotes. I realized that caffeine, coffee, alcohol, light settings in my home has been impacting my Deep REM sleep.

I wish I had this book years ago but I feel that knowing about how sleep impacts my over life longevity has helped me sleep better at night. It is all thanks to this book and other things I am doing to make sure I am sleeping enough at night. As a therapist, I am pledging to no longer suggest melatonin, a drug to help my clients sleep. I am looking online for natural ways to help my clients sleep. As of now, the most effective treatment for chronic sleep (according to the author) is CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Insomnia). I plan on using CBT-I once I receive proper training on it. What a wonderful non-fiction. I recommend 10/10. Please take a nap, they are good for you but not after 3 pm because it will interrupt your deep REM sleep.

Wow! When I interviewed her I knew she had a fascinating mind and I had no idea how fascinating. This was a very multi-layered book. The combination between fantasy, destiny, and the segregation was beautiful. I love the use of “the saints” hands and what that meant for different characters in the book. Each character had an unique talent or purpose. I felt that none of characters were playing supporting roles. They all were show stoppers.

This manga is outdated in its language for sure. However while reading I understand this is a manga of its time. I am interested to know what’s the meaning of Bloody Monday. I wish I had a few more copies of this manga on hand because I’m so into the son character development in this story and I worry about his little sister.

I am still continuing with this manga series. I must say I keep getting more and more pulled into the wine specifications. I am wondering the amount of work it took to write this Manga. I am always intrigued by research. I love research. The cliff hanger at the end of this volume was great.

The Drops of God is informative in my opinion. I am new Manga and do not have a long catalogue to judge this manga against others but I found myself pleasantly surprised. The information about how wine is made, the year it's made, the crops is very interesting to me. I am enjoying this Manga so far and can't wait to read more of the volumes. As a wine drinker, I am loving this book. It is also a great addition to the more serious topic that I read often.

After the rain was beautiful and scary to read. This graphic novel graphics had gore tones and I didn't know what to expect. Like the main character, I approached the scene with fear. This graphic novel show the difficulty of navigating the world as American and Nigerian. This book introduces cultural norms and passages that the western world is unfamiliar with and behaviors that may deem a person as being "unwell." Going on the spiritual journey with the main character was refreshing and allowed me time to challenge my western views, while living in a black body.

This book is a perfect example of understanding how race affects people intersectionally. I can definitely see the influence of Dr. Kimberle Crenshaw work in the author's writing. When discussing race, although I personally know how taxing it can be on black bodies, I thoroughly enjoy when authors gives a piece of their history into their narrative/research. It is much different to discuss negative impacts of racism/race than to experience it.

In this book the author discussed at length what it means to be a "model minority" and how it has greatly and negatively impacted Asian Americans from vast different cultures in the U.S. This author discuss how "model minority" silences Asian Americans voices and forces them into a box that they did not create. The author discusses ableism and how this impacts racial experiences. I found myself clapping every time I heard something relatable. I can't wait to meet this author one day. These kinds of gifts are gems to me.

I wanted to take some time to process this book. I took a few days before thinking about how to review such a tragically beautiful book. The author had their work cut out for them when they were writing this book. The ability to tell a story in and out of time, with so many different perspective is a true skill. The words written in this novel felt real. In my mind, I made comparison of white settlers in brown lands and their notions of "assimilation." The Inna was a group in this book who were alien and looked human; however there was something that was different and humans were able to spot it. Their mistreatment whether intentional caused the humans in this novel to act with kindness or violence. Reading this book was like reading a science fiction oral narration of what could happen and what has happened in the real world. This book was outstanding and I was very delighted to read a book that was set on a Caribbean island.

The title is this book was spot on. What happens when you don't heed the lessons of your Kin? What happens when you create new lessons that differs from the norm? What happens when new lessons are forced upon you and you are back into a corner? Will you fight back or will you assimilate?
