All of these people trying to find Johan…. Sad.

I was laughing and so excited reading his manga! I can’t wait for volume 2. This is an unlikely family but I think they will be great together once they find the pace and trust each.
slow-paced
Beautiful story telling. Toni Morrison told stories like no other.

This was a fantastic read. I realize that I did not know what love was or it was built in harm. I learned how I have misused love and how others has misused love towards me. I learned how the patriarchy affects love and how love shows up in gender roles. I learned about that kind of love I want to lean into!

There were so many things I needed in this book. The part she discussed about gossiping hit with me the most. I am also reading about that in All About Love by Bell Hooks. I agree, I do not need to be in relationships with folks where the primary objective is discussing the downfall of others. That’s is not love and it’s not okay. A constant reminder I have to tell myself. I did this a lot when I was teenager. Sometimes I’m allured by it. Reality TV doesn’t help. I need reduce how much reality TV I watch as well.

I enjoyed book two more than I enjoyed book one. I am interested to see how this book turns out. Going through the underworld is the most fascinating part of the book for me. I loved it.
Johan is intertwined in so many things. I’m interested to see the character development of his sister and the Dr. Tenma. There were so many twist in this volume and unexpected injuries and deaths. However, the first volume within this perfect volume spoke to me the most because of the profession of the world psychologist. He is a perfect example of what happens to helping professional when they become jaded by their work and the clients they serve.
I loved the storyline about ghouls. Even though I was creeped out by the cemetery stuff and ghouls. The writing and drawing made it more creepy to dive into that story. This is a prime example of friendship comes in unexpected places.
