Shout out to Ashley from Realm of Kitlitcomics for putting us on this one. This book was informative about plagues and how the world has responded to plagues throughout history. I kept thinking while reading, "they (people in positions of power and have money) keep repeating the same mistakes and millions of people have died from them, why don't they get it."
Things continue to heat up with Temperance and her detective situationship Ryan. In this book, we learn about the aftermath of a plane crash and the misidentification of a body that was on the site, but the person was not on the plane's manifest. This is also a cautionary tale of not bringing inflammatory items on the plane because you are endangering everyone's life. In this book, the author continues to talk about indigenous people as she did in the book before and after this one. I don't expect authors who are not Indigenous to talk about Indigenous people in North America, but a lot of authors and people pretend that they don't exist (it breaks my heart, but it is true).
In this book, we learn about an odd cult and the madmen who decided to the cult rituals. I will say all the different aspects in this book were done well and were given enough time to dive into. I am giving this a three because the storytelling could have been more descriptive and robots, but it was entertaining. Also, I have learned that I still haven't figured out her formula for spotting the person responsible for the murder(s) in her book. I do know that it is always who I least expected.

The last line of this book sent me into a rage. It is hard for me to see open support for Israel, knowing the generational harm Israel has done to Palestine and surrounding arab nations. It is sickening. This book follows the story of lost bones that went to Montreal for Temperance Brenan to investigate. The whole time I was reading this book, I asked myself, "She is trying to be the basis with Israel and Palestine," but she is doing a poor job at it. I kept trying to give grace, but the last line of the book solidified to me how she felt. I know this book was written a long time ago, but it was not before Nakba.
One of the things I admire about this author is how she researches what she is saying. She may not always write using the correct words to describe groups of people, but you can tell she did some research. I also been giving grace to her earlier books because that is a world that is different than the world we are currently in. However, the clear disregard for Palestinian people in this book was a hell of no for me.

The two main characters still linger in my mind. I loved seeing how their love for each other developed. It was beautiful. I am glad the miscommunication trope was not as toxic as I thought. I don't like when miscommunication tropes are steeped in toxicity. It can be hard to stay in the story, and this book hooked me from the first page that I had to keep reading. This is a love story of when two unlikely characters with seemingly different opinions on life but within the same culture fall for each other but try their best to deny each other what was there. There are also themes of friendship and how friendship breakups can cause just as much harm to oneself as romantic relationships.
August and Iris were meant together. I added many content warnings because this book was a hard read, but I ended up enjoying the love/romance in the story. Iris and the man who repeatedly abused her and trapped her into having his baby was one of the worst characters I have ever read in my life.

I have no complaints, and I can't wait to see how the main MC will engage with Ma. I wonder if trouble will appear again and the MC mother will learn to get on board with what her child is asking for her. This book was written very well, and the ending set up the scene for the next book.
This was a beautiful story on how your passions can lead you to who you need to be with. This is a story of two people who were dealt a hard hand in life but still chose to be with each other, although they were scared and unsure how vulnerable they wanted to be. I love how compatible they were in conversation and during sex.
I talked about this book in a few of my vlogs but I hoped this book was more about Jessie and not Jessie in relation to a man!
This is an age gap that didn’t bother me as much because of how the story was told. I love seeing when people of color fall in love. I felt both of the main MCs of being distrustful of the world due to their life experience. I love how they surrender to themselves to each other.

Other than her punk a** sister and mother! I adored this book so well and I want to be cared for like Rome and Janelle.
