Malice is my favorite book of the author so far. I had some structural and storyline issues with the Devotion of Suspect X. This book was organized very well and the thoroughness of the detective to try to figure out how a famous writer died really pulled me in the story. This is a story that throws twists at you like like pokemon balls. This was a very well written and connected mystery for me.

This was a really spooky comic book to me. I think the use of the silver coin and what it represented really scared me and reinforced some lessons about life.

Briar book was so good. This one was a wrap up of all the lessons the kids learned and how it can be applied as adult. It also showed how grief can manifest itself and how we make decisions that can affect other people; but we must understand that those decisions may come with unwanted consequences.

This a MANDATORY READING! I plan on talking about this book compared with other books in a more nuanced way but this book was beautifully written and probably my favorite book of 2023.
I just couldn’t keep myself in the story. I just want to the end because the pace was tooo slow

It took me months to finish this book. The writing is so beautiful, raw, and whimsical that I just wanted to take my time with it. This is a story of a young girl who has the ability to know how a spirit left the earthly plane by eating the earth where they died. You continue to learn about her gift, her community, and how her family system supported her and left her alone with her brother. She also learns some valuable lessons of what she can and can not do as an earth eater.

I enjoyed this cozy! I loved that it was inter generational. Samantha and her grandmother made a great team. I just loved their relationship and the solving of the crimes. I also loved that it was a historical cozy book within a modern day cozy. I don’t know how it worked but it worked.
I am pausing this book for now and I am not in a mental space to read the realities of this book.
