hm. up its own ass but it acknowledges that it is but I don’t think it made it any more pleasant or interesting to read. a couple of the stories were awesome- the feminist and our dope future - the others I think got lost in too much jargon and overexplanation. still pretty funny!

Devastating! captures a great female fear - will I give everything just to be left to deal with everything in the end? Still grappling with the ending.

extremely disturbing but I can see why this is a classic. inner monologue is so good, the clothes descriptions etc… the weird restaurant food???? I had to put this down at a few points but overall was sucked in and so fascinated. what would patrick bateman be like in the age of the internet or cell phones???

mostly loved it. such an interesting creation story/premise/thoughts on how technology has changed our world and relationships. main plot I didnt latch onto as much. the kind of book I am sure would benefit from a second read in time!
more enjoyable than I expected and very funny! but quite repetitive and after I read the windmill scene wasn’t motivated or excited to keep reading. so long!!!!

really enjoyed! thoughtful on being alone, space and how the stories we spin for ourselves help and hurt us.
hm. I would not say I enjoyed this as much as I found it fascinating- it felt almost too abstract to glean meaning from. some interesting thoughts about the present being lived in the past, memory and forming identity but was not pulled in by the story or writing at any point. maybe women are mysteries, but also maybe everyone is and we all process it differently and this book has such a feminine mystique vibe.

wow absolutely heartbreaking. like so so sad!! awesome descriptions and some really beautiful characters but omg I cried so often.

light on plot, heavy on suffering but still riveting and I can see how this led to meatpacking/food regulation bc holy shit!!!
interesting premise/setting, super accurate portrayal of children and some really good dialogue. other than that wanted more depth on the surveillance stuff
