Now this was a thriller and probably the best one the author has ever written. I love when books are inspired by real life events and then have an extra added twist to them.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat, had my heart beating hard and saying “what the fuck” every few pages.

Charlie Donlea has done it again. His books are always full of twists and turns that manages to keep me on the edge of my seat every time. 

I picked this book for my book club with my parents because my dad is a huge fan of thrillers with a heavy police presence. And I’ve got to say, I think he’s on to something. 

Is this a terrible book? Absolutely not. Is this not up to the standards I normally expect from Emily Henry? Absolutely. 

It’s giving The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo with a tiny, tiny splash of that Emily Henry romantic spark I’ve come to know and love. 

Again, it’s not a terrible book, just definitely not my favorite of her’s. 

It’s been awhile since a book has truly creeped me out. Although the book was pretty straight forward, a psychopath adult out on a revenge spree (while grooming a child), there’s something about psychopath children that really gives me the chills. 

Another devastatingly beautiful book by Jodi Picoult about intertwined families, teenage suicide and loving someone so much that you would be willing to do anything they asked of you.  

My sister picked this book for our book club and after reading it, she’s never picking again. I’m not saying this is the worst book I’ve ever read, but it comes pretty close. 

The main character was insufferable and that’s just not something I can easily move past. The plot was a cute idea but the writing just felt really basic and predictable. 

This book reminded me of my relationship with all of my sisters (there’s four of us, just like in the book). It reminded me of all the small shared moments, woven into your life, even when you’re no longer under the same roof. It reminded me of forgiveness within a family and how sometimes it’s not as easy as it seems. 

I really loved this book and it’s reminded me just how important siblings are in your life. Even when you think you’ve done the worst thing imaginable, they’ll always be in your corner.

I initially picked up this book because the plot reminded me of a favorite of mine, Lessons in Chemistry. Although it didn’t have the same spark, it still captured my attention. 

I love learning about how life was like for women in the 1950s and how far we’ve come in society, and how far we still have to go. This book is about the perseverance of one woman who wants to break the molds society has forced upon her. 

Although I loved the plot, I felt like the backstory of Maggie’s life took away from everything going on. It would have been much better if it just focused on her present life.  

A fast-paced psychological thriller with so many twists and turns, you get whiplash from just trying to keep up. 

Honestly, I really enjoyed this book. Definitely one of the better thrillers I’ve read this year (yes, I’m looking at you Lisa Jewell). Not quite a 5 star for me because I feel like I was left with too many questions at the end.
