Yas. Best book of the trilogy.

I enjoyed this, it’s cute! The ending got a bit too silly for me, but overall enjoyed it. I liked The Kiss Quotient a lot more, but this is still a fun read.

2.5 stars. I kinda couldn’t wait for it to be over the last third of the book.

3.5 stars. I didn’t realize this was a retelling of a Lovecraft story. I’ve never read Lovecraft. He was a racist piece of shit. I enjoyed this story, and now I enjoy it more knowing it is a response by LaValle. I will not be reading the original Lovecraft version of this story. That is all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this interesting biography about a fascinating lady. Milicent Patrick led such an interesting life, and O’Meara did a great job bringing her accomplishments and little-known career to light. Some reviews criticize the book for going on long tangents, and I do agree with that. While I love history and I enjoyed learning more about Milicent’s father and Hollywood history, I feel like a lot of that information was added in as filler because not enough information was available about Milicent. I do also feel that O’Meara made some assumptions about certain people and their feelings through a modern-day lens, which I found entertaining but at times kind of inappropriate for a biography. Besides that, I learned a lot and I enjoyed the audiobook version read by O’Meara!

2.75 stars. This book is fluffy and entertaining and I enjoyed it. The “big reveal” at the end was kinda ??? Idunno.

Meh. I didn’t enjoy The Alchemist, so why did I even read this? Not sure, but it was on my bookshelf and I’m in quarantine. I’m also not religious so this book is probably great for some people, just not for me.
