This isn't the worst piece of fiction out there  especially for a free book. However, it reads like a first draft. The world is flat and lacks any development. So do the plot  characters, magic system (?), and basically every other idea in the book. It's got some interesting ideas, but that's all they are: ideas.

Also, this entire plot takes place over 2 days. I found myself imaging that things were going on for weeks only to be reminded that years worht of "character development" happened I the past 4 hours.

I see that the reviews for the rest of the series are a lot better, so Iight be interested in continuing the series at some point in the future to see where it goes and how the author evolves as a writer.

Had a slow start, but overall a trilling read.

I was hoping this book would be a bit more of a stand a lone, but it's not a full cliff hanger at least. It's a lot of set up.

I loved White's writing. This is my first book from her and her writing style kept me engaged and coming back. The plot had a lot of fun twists and turns and it's a refreshing take on the tales of Camelot.

Excited to dive into the next book!
challenging informative slow-paced

There is no winning under capitalism. Save the environment = gentrification and hurting marginalized peoples. Not doing this = everybody dies but the Mars trillionaires. Choose your evil.

In all seriousness this was a very thorough look at Green Gentrification in New York City, examining how different policies have pushed people further to the margins of society in efforts to beautify the city and make it more environmentally friendly.

Parts of the book felt like they were written with only New York City residents/Americans in mind as readers. My Canadian self does not inherently understand the implications of certain governing bodies by last name alone and there were sections of this book I had to do additional research for in order to understand the full context.

Other than that, this was a book that was already on my radar to read before I had to pick it up for class and is definitely the best one I have had to read all semester. Cheers!

Some of the patterns feel less like snowflakes, but I found ones that fit my vision for my project.

No Frozen patterns, a massive disappointment, That being said, everything in here is so cute and well thought out! I loved that they had plushies too, it's rare to find those as knitting patterns. I will definetly make the tangled gloves, they're stunning.
informative

This book has everything you need to make a fiar-isle sweater from scratch from measurements to over 200 motifs you can use. This is amazing. I have a pattern I like already from another pattern, but this has helped me so much in making the colour graph for the knit. I have way too many projects lol but at the very least I got the 'make this pattern' itch done so I can focus on my wips.
