this book reminds me why i dont read early historicals. i mean, this has SOME of lisa kleypas’ signature charm. jack is so aggressive and uncomfy. he is easily one of my least fav heroes ive ever read. he says he would never force himself on a woman but he pursues her after she says no, and then she is fine with it?? its just gross and made me so uncomfy. like he just made me feel icky at so many points throughout the book. he ALSO threatens to blackmail her multiple times, and there is just a general undertone of extreme misogyny, and even though she tried to make up for it at the end, it certainly did not work. i will continue to read lisa kleypas, but i would surely not be mad if she removed this book from her backlist. 

i liked this a lot more than FBAA, but sometimes sera was annoying 

i really enjoyed this! the characters were sweet, and the conflict wasnt too drawn out. the writing isnt extraordinarily special but it’s still good!! i love drake💗💗

i actually quite enjoyed this! it was super steamy and fluffy, i liked the characters (for the most part, it took me a while to get attached to them), and i thought the conflict(s) were well done. 

i really really loved calvin. the premise was nice, but i felt like a little too much was going on in the last 100 pages. and i wouldve liked an epilogue 

it was fine. the chemistry felt a little forced, and i didnt love the mysterious subplot. but the found family was nice, the conflict made sense, and the last chapter was really sweet

it has been a while since i cried while reading a book. this was rough. it would be perfect if the writing was a little more my style

why did he sing????? also the chapters were TOO short. i love a good short chapter, but no 400 page book should have over 200 chapters total???? wayy unnecessary

the phrase “fur baby” = ICK
while harry is self aware in some areas, he could be more self aware. 
some parts of it did feel a little too “woe is me” although i do really respect harry and everything he’s been through
the parts about africa did kinda rub me the wrong way

honestly, i felt like some parts of the plot were a little far-fetched but i dont even care. it made me so emotional. and i love all the couples. i love the world, the politics, the ending. however, i do wish that aelin and rowan would have had a big conversation at the end. i could have done with a teeny bit more closure. nevertheless, i LOVE sjm. i am sad to say farewell to this beloved series
