the writing of this was very good, but parts of it really dragged. it could have been like 200 pages shorter. it was still really good, though, and for some reason, the epilogue made me really sad

i really thought i would love this. the concept seemed right up my alley. the beginning was promising. i didn’t understand the characters’ motivations (esp in regards to tally. there was no reason WHY scottie liked her so much, she had quite literally zero redeeming qualities. even manipulators are supposed to be charismatic?!?!?), parts were too cringey (even though it was supposed to be “camp”), the characters didnt have enough chemistry, scottie should have apologized more for being so rude in the beginning, the conflict didnt feel like it got all the way resolved, and the rom com references did not feel genuine. a few of the sports-y parts were nice. some of the side characters were cool

this was nice, but i just wasnt as invested in it as i could have been. i didnt like the secondary romance either. the twist at the end did really catch me by surprise,

but i really wanted her to retain ownership of the inn. i felt like that was an important part of her character and autonomy and i would have loved to be able to see her stay involved with it.

her inability to have children was an interesting addition; i liked that representation, and i liked that it wasnt a huge deal or a major component of the conflict

i liked this, especially the second half, but i think everyone was too mean to wren

i felt like their relationship went a little too fast, but i liked the characters and the story was so relaxing! a good low-angst romance. i just wish i had cared about the characters a little bit more

this was quite sweet & fun!! i just didnt love all the stuff w her brother, and i wished claudia’s storyline had been more fleshed out. i did love amelia though

i wish i would have read a different biography of lincoln. the part about his pre-presidential life was really informative, but i feel like his presidency and the civil war was just pretty glossed over and not that informative. the information that it did provide in that section was very surface level. i also didnt always love the writing, especially the parts that used a lot of superlatives 

a lot of my friends loved this, but i just couldn’t get into it. i didn’t really care about the characters or the story, but the writing was pretty good

at like the 60% mark of this book, i was like “what is happening? im enjoying this but it should be over” but then the twists started coming and OH MY GOD. OH. MY. GOD. it definitely gave the same feelings as sarah j maas. i am so invested in all of the plot lines. starting the next one immediately
