i have been really excited for this book, and at first, i was not liking it as much as i expected to, but the second half was really awesome!!

good, but i wanted there to be a little more going on. sometimes little plot works for me well, but i wanted this one to have a bit more :)

the first half of this was literally 5 stars but i didnt like the second half as much

the story was pretty fun, but i didnt like the writing very much. 

i really did not like this. the way that the author discussed certain topics made me really uncomfortable, especially domestic abuse, sexual assault, and colonialism, and i did not love the writing. furthermore, i do not think he proved his point at all that cleveland was a man of good character. i will say it was fairly informative, but i disliked the way it was presented 

i am definitely becoming obsessed with this series 

i only had to read part of it for school, but it was pretty enjoyable 

i wish this would have been a teeny bit shorter because it dragged in the middle

i almost dnf at the beginning, but i decided to continue with it and was happy with the middle. i dont like villain or morally grey mmcs very much, but i was feeling pretty good about ero’s character development. toward the end, though, he said a lot of stuff that made me uncomfy because it seemed like they might lead to non-consensual acts in the future because he was literally like “youre not allowed to say no to me” and that was a HUUUUUUGE red flag. also, sometimes (most of the time), the world building was confusing. 

um i cant believe this doesnt have a higher rating! i adored it!!! i cannot WAIT to read the rest of this series. i really have to pace myself with ruby’s books because they are SO. ADDICTING. my only qualm with this was sometimes claudia’s back-and-forth was kinda annoying, and i wanted more of kaels pov.
