this book had a good amount of information for its length, but i still would have liked for it to be a little longer. 

i’ve heard that this book is like a quintessential character study, and so i was honestly disappointed by the amount of “plot.” like the whole thing with shihara was kind of plot and i didnt rlly like it. i just wanted to focus on keiko.

i’m having a hard time articulating my feelings about this book. overall, it was good, but i feel like there were certain details that kept it from being great for me. first of all, i like the cover, but i dont know if it fits the book imo. i was invested in the mystery, but i wasn’t sure about salem’s character. i had unresolved feelings about her. i also had some unresolved feelings about jess and teagan’s relationship. i know it would have been unrealistic for everything to be perfect at the end, but not having everything tied up with a perfect bow is not what i want from a romance! i appreciated the more serious aspects, mostly, like the discussion of bipolar, and how jess raised teagan. i also appreciated the lack of a baby and marriage in the epilogue. one thing i did want from the ending, though, was for the third act conflict to revolve around the mystery rather than the relationship. i would have preferred that.

my last f.t. lukens was a dud, so i was ecstatic that this is my favorite of their works so far. the whole cast of characters ended up being very dear to me! i didnt really like ellery at first, but i appreciated their curmudgeonly loveableness by the end. knox was also so precious. their romance felt so wonderful. the last 50% of this was especially compelling, and the last 25% was soooo emotional

like when he saw them in the other world and didn’t remember them but knew they were special was just such a perfect moment.

the last chapter was very sweet. super solid ending. 

i was in an alien romance mood so i binged this in like a day and it was so fun! great character development in this one. and the scenes with kids were so cute. very low-angst imo

this book was well-written (obviously, bc it's cat sebastian), but something about it just felt off to me. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I was going to. I can't quite put my finger on the reason I didn't absolutely love it, but there was just something I didn't love.

this book isn’t badly written or poorly researched, and in fact there are many interesting tidbits, but i had to read this for school, and i just truly did not care about the majority of anything that she discussed in this book. 

i didnt like chase that much, and there were too many conflicts imo, but the writing was still good and it is a pretty good old school historical. 

my favs were bombshell & bitch and my least favs were bastard & beginning
