this was perfect except i wanted slightly bigger declarations of love at the end.

normally, i wouldn’t go for a self-help book, but i requested an arc for this one because it is drew. i ended up really enjoying it! from what i understand, drew did not use a ghostwriter for this, but her writing was actually pretty good. i also think the length of this book makes it accessible to people that may not consider themselves readers. even so, there were some things i wish she had elaborated on. she often references “the universe” but she doesn’t really go into what that means to her or what she means by it. i also think the body neutrality chapter should have been longer because she talks about the concept of body neutrality but doesnt give examples of how to practice it, which i think would have been helpful. the chapter about being mean also could have used some elaboration, in my opinion. she says that it is okay to be mean, but she doesn’t elucidate why, and i wanted to hear her perspective on that. i did like the chapter titles, though. 

this isnt a badly written book, but if im almost halfway into something and i still dont like the characters or care about the plot, i dnf. 

this series is unfathomably incredible. i love everything cat sebastian writes, but i think this series should be 1000 books long. im almost finished with her backlist and im absolutely heartbroken about it. 

i think i was supposed to like this more than i did. the story was enjoyable, and i enjoyed many elements of it, but i didn’t find the writing as charming as i think i was supposed to. it is a fun book, but i’m not sure i’m on board with the hype. 

this was so fun!! the characters were lovable, and the internal conflicts were especially well done. 

EASILY my fav tessa bailey. this was incredibly fun. there were some tiny writing things that bugged me, but other than that it was perfect. i would 100% recommend. the characters are fantastic, the plot is compelling, the conflict is well done, and the ending is sweet enough to give you a toothache. the spice was great and done well without being too much (imo)

i have heard people talk about books that they feel were written for them or took a piece out of their brains, and i have never felt like that. until today. this book was written for me. this book changed my brain chemistry. maybe someday i will write a comprehensive review but i will just say that i am a different person than when i started this book. cat sebastian is fucking incredible 

i wasnt super invested in the first 3/4 of this book; i only kept reading out of curiosity. but the last 25% was phenomenal. i will read the 3rd book in the series, and i hope that i enjoy that one as much as everyone else loves this series. yes, i think the books are good, but i still dont believe they fully live up to the hype, and i was slightly disappointed by this.
