this was a fun friends to lovers! i just wanted the love confessions at the end to be a lil different

this just did not work for me like miss bev’s historicals do! it wasn’t bad, i just didnt care about what was happening and the vibes were ~off~ imo

i was really excited to read a historical romance with palestinian representation, but i didnt end up loving this :/ the sexual tension was done well, but i didnt really believe in the romance and i didnt love the writing

i did enjoy the relationship, and i think zhur’s character development was very impressive. it was just too long for me to want to reread it, yet somehow the end felt rushed. 

this was very sweet, like any christina lauren, but i wish sam had groveled more + i wish they had spent more tome together during part 2. it kinda felt like they were still holding on to feelings for the people they were in the past instead of the people they are in the present. 

this was such a sweet story! i wish it was dual pov though

sometimes ruby can make me invested in a story with a short page length, but this one unfortunately didnt work. the page count just wasn’t enough for me to care about the characters or them together. also, their second meeting REALLY threw me off, because chelsea had no follow up questions about how he acted, but she also didnt say that she knew about praxiian customs. so does that mean she was just fine with it???? i didnt like that part
