Cute! Definitely not for everyone, but I enjoyed it. It is sweet and sad and thrilling, just like adolescence. I appreciate everything Rachel Cohn and David Levithan write.

If this book was just a regular book, it would be 3 or 4 stars. But it was so incredibly hyped that I was expecting it to be life changing. This may be weird, but every book I’ve ever read with a character named Oliver has been wonderful. To be fair, Oliver was the only character in this I liked, but I honestly hated his relationship with Nate. I also just hated Nate. and Flo. and Gideon. The theme of ‘enjoying the present instead of focusing on the future’ was just so incredibly shoved down the readers’ throats, and it was excruciating. There were a few cute parts, but the characters and their interactions made me want to rip my eyes out.

Was the writing bad? Yes. Was the story super cringey? Yes. Was the plot super stereotypical? Yes. But did I kind of enjoy it anyway because I am a sucker for romance? Also yes.

I am not Muslim or Jewish, so I cannot count on the exact narratives presented in this book, but I did enjoy the novel! Some parts were a tad cringey, but it was mostly surprisingly accurate. They did a great job of depicting how politics can light fires within people and help them find passions. I liked that they went with a semi-realistic ending instead of a typical contemporary ending. Overall, the 400 pages felt like 200 and it was a very good read :)

At first, I did not like this book because I thought Charlie’s voice was immature. By the end of the novel, I still thought his voice was immature, but his thoughts were far from it. I understand what it’s like to feel like something is wrong with you but not know what it is. This book was beautiful.

Well written and informative. Alison Weir is an incredible researcher. I do wish the writing was a bit more engaging. I know it is nonfiction, but I feel like it could still be slightly more readable.

very very disappointing. i expect more from huntley fitzpatrick. alice didnt even say anything about liking tim for the first like 150 pages. there were SO. MANY. unnecessary plotlines. this book could have been half its size. it was cringey, formulaic, and the blatant attempt to state the moral of the story in the epilogue was just annoying. ALSO the whole “the sex was amazing the very first time” is so stupid and gives teenage girls reading this unrealistic expectations.

i definitely agree with my first review better than the second one. beautifully written and compelling. it seems a little insta-lovey but honestly, sometimes that really is how life is. you fall in love with someone’s energy as soon as they walk into a room.

i wasn’t as into the first 300 pages or so as i was last time, but i did still love the book. i really appreciated their time apart this time and i also absolutely loved his dynamic with autumn. having someone thats just your person is an amazing thing to read about.

almost perfect. i laughed, i cried, i smiled, and everything in between. i borrowed it from the library but i NEED to own a copy because so many of the passages touched me so much. i have a rule that i must read a book twice before it becomes an “all time fav” but i almost broke that rule with this one.

this is such a beautiful and heartwarming story. it brought me tears and laughter. one of the most wonderful things i have ever read. it’s honestly hard to believe that something this amazing is even real.
