i liked the characters but the writing style was not my favorite and i found the plot to be a little boring

In all honesty, it’s pretty cliche and cringey, but I still love it. There is still a decent amount of character development, unlikely friendships, and adorable romance. A quintessential Kasie West book.

When I started this book, I felt like it was unrealistic. However, I slowly realized it is one of the most realistic novels of all time. because sometimes this is exactly what love is like. and what life is like. and I loved it. How does it not have a higher rating??? It’s literally a banger. Like the characters are definitely flawed, but I feel like it’s one of the best YA books ever, and it’s easily jennifer e. smith’s best

The writing style is awesome. The setting and topic are very unique and interesting. But it is just so sad. More than sad. Gut wrenching. Heartbreaking. HUGE TW for sexual assault and suicide
challenging informative slow-paced

After being told that Teddy Roosevelt was a hero my entire life, it was nice to learn that he was actually an asshole. However, I didn’t like the structure of the book. It felt all over the place and confusing. Like a character would be mentioned once and then again 20 pages later, so you have already forgotten who they were. Just kinda boring and annoying

I really enjoyed the insight it offered and it was nice that Ruth was comfortable with the author so she gave very authentic answers.

3.5 Stars. The encounters and dialogue were pretty cringey and I did not like any of the friendships. But it was cute enough. And I liked her internal monologue
