I LOVE Alix E. Harrow’s writing - she has this incredible way of unraveling a deeper story without you even realizing it, and Starling House was no exception. The beautiful writing along with a touch of gothic horror made for such a moving story of love, resilience, and generational trauma.

SPEECHLESS. This book was everything. Did it take me a bit to fully invest and get into yet? Yes. Am I so fucking glad that I did? HEL YES. The mystery, the twists, the GODSDAMN SLOW BURN. All of it had me devouring this book every spare second I had. And can we talk about the power move that was vacuuming the ashes?! *chefs kiss* absolute perfection.

2nd read: I forgot how much of an info dump this book is, but enjoyed the reread so much more! I had honestly forgotten so many small plot pieces so it was really fun to dive back into this world and still be (kinda) surprised by things at times.

Just finished this bad boy for the second time and it is just *chefs kiss* perfection! I cannot believe how intricate this story has gotten, and I love every single character so much?? I simply cannot WAIT to see where this story goes!

Absolutely speechless. This book was somehow everything I didn’t know I wanted? There was a point around the end of Part I that had me realizing that I genuinely had NO idea where this book was going, and I just had to buckle up and try to enjoy the ride

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and I honestly had such a great time reading it, I devoured it in a single day! My biggest complaint was that at times it felt rushed because it just wasn’t long enough. It had so many of my favorite things: grumpy x sunshine, fated mates, and was cozy with the perfect amount of spice! And the lil fairy horde absolutely killed me, I loved them. This was my first shifter romance and wasn’t sure how I’d like it, and now I can’t wait for more

Ohhh I loved this book so much! It was so cool to get to know Viv a bit more pre-L&L, and I felt that there was a perfect balance of cozy vibes and a bit of action and mystery! Also Satchel is absolute perfection and deserves the world. I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time, that’s for sure ✨

Ohhh goodness I loved this book SO MUCH. Found family, grumpy falls for sunshine, all of it just gave me the warm fuzzies while still keeping me on my toes with some big twists! I will recommend this book to everyone who will listen ✨

Thank you to the team at NetGalley and Orbit Books for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review!

While it did take a bit to get used to the unique narration (the story is told through letters exchanged by the different characters), once I settled into it, I actually found it to feel very intimate and like I got this very personal view of the characters. The story itself was whimsical, mysterious, romantic, and so much more! I loved watching E. and Henerey’s personalities shine as their relationship blossomed, as well as the friendship between their siblings supporting each other in their mutual grief. The mystery was woven into the story so effortlessly and I was constantly found myself wanting to know what happens next!

I did not realize this is the first in a series, so the cliffhanger ending caught me a bit off guard, but in the best way! I absolutely cannot WAIT to read what happens next in this magical world.
