I went into this expecting it to be a dark romance between a psychologist and her patient....

Yeah, I was not prepared.

I would say this book is more of a thriller romance, because wow, this book was twisted and fucked up.

The main 2 characters actually reminded me of The Joker and Harley Quinn.

I think if any of you are interested in psychology, you might really like this. Because it's heavily focused on psychopaths and murderers etc.

I literally just finished the book, so the rating might change once I've let my thoughts settle. I did enjoy it, but it was a LOT

Rating: 4 stars

Surprisingly enjoyed this?? Banks was such an intriguing main character, I loved seeing her character grow. She's gone through very difficult experiences, and watching her slowly gain the courage to follow her own dreams and take what she wants, was everything. Also, she's so BADASS. I'm obsessed

This was so cute. I loved the two main characters

Rating: 3.5 stars

Okk, I'm actually so upset that this book went so downhill for me

Rating: ★★★.5

I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did.

The slow burn romance, the smutty scenes, the roommate to lovers trope... it was all done so well. I loved the main character, Haley, which is rare for me. Usually, the main characters of romance novels tend to annoy me so fucking much. I also really loved Cade as a character, I loved that he had ambitions and dreams that he wanted to pursue. I also really like the fact that he isn't a dick, he's actually quite a sweet guy.

I LOVED Court, and I'm so excited to read the next book which follows Court and Tuck!! We didn't get to really learn much about Tuck, in fact from what we do see of him, I don't really like him

Why are all the characters so stupid?

I'm sorry but this book is NOT it. I felt so uncomfortable the entire time. I'm okay with taboo romances, but this just felt lowkey disrespectful??

Erm... I'm not sure why this was recommended to me tbh.

3.5 ☆“I was dead inside, going through the motions of every day, living for work, for building a future for my kids. While doing that I forgot about the present, about living. You showed me how important it is to live in the moment, to experience my children’s life and not just plan for their future.”

This wasn't the best book I've read by Cora Reilly, but it was definitely a solid romance.

One thing I've noticed with Cora Reilly, is that her longer books are always better. When Cora Reilly takes the time to really develop the characters, and build the relationship, it can be stunning. But quite often, she writes shorter, quick romance like Sweet Temptation, that always leaves something to be desired. I just wanted so much more from this. Rather than the random time skips, I wanted to see Cassio and Guilia slowly grow closer. Honestly, Cora Reilly needs to never include a time jump in her story, ever again. It does a HUGE disservice to the relationship that is being built.

However, there was a LOT about this that I loved. Seeing Guilia slowly heal the family was everything. And CASSIO. I love the "single dad" trope, it's absolutely one of my favourites. And Cassio did it so well. His concern and love for his kids was so unbelievably moving. There were some things that irritated me with the parenting, but then again, it's a mafia romance. Casual sexism is literally mafia culture, so I can't really complain, I knew what I was getting into
