Adapted from the author's own diary, this is a slice of life graphic novel about 60s Beatle-mania. It's a very cool assembly of pop charts, ad jingles, and almost mixed media presentation accompanied with the author's own words. It has the POV of a 13 year old girl. So if that voice is not what you're wanting to hear, definitely not the graphic novel for you. I really enjoyed it. It's also nice to see the author's mom and dad pop up, who were characterized so well in A Soldier's Heart.
Legitimately laughed out loud at moments. Listened to the audiobook, which was an awesome choice. She is a great narrator.
Mannnnnn Trevor Noah has lived one hell of a life. Listened to the audiobook, I highly recommend it.
I had no idea this had such a strong sociological background. It was a fascinating read, particularly the chapters on dating in other countries. Aziz was a great narrator (I listened to the audiobook).
This was really good and indulgently long. The art was phenomenal. I can’t wait to see the screen adaptation.
Really interesting memoir about Tig Notaro, a stand up comedian who had the year from hell. Very poignant.
The artwork in this is stunning. That is all I will say.
This is adorable!!!
Really cool concept for a graphic novel. Gorgeously illustrated. Will definitely check out other volumes.
Really fascinating, moving allegory about undocumented immigration. I wish more of the authors’ works were translated into English.
