This was dark and prescient as hell.  I read the intro after finishing it and was not surprised to see it profoundly influenced George Orwell.   I’d never even heard of it, no idea how it ended up on my TBR pile.

This reminded me a lot of Life As We Knew It.  At its core, it’s a YA book set against the backdrop of a climate driven collapse.  The main character’s voice is a tough listen, she is shy, reticent, and no one really seems to like her for much of the book.  It’s a weird vibe.  I found it compelling though.

This was a collection of accounts about missing persons by a journalist who specializes in writing short form articles about them.  The main thread of the story is the missing persons case of Jacob Grey.  The book is quite well written and by the end of the book I felt like I totally knew his father, the main “protagonist” of the book, if you will.

I’d recommend it if you’re interested in travel writing about the Pacific Northwest or true crime as a genre.

Fun little mystery novel.  I’d recommend it if you like older mysteries, it definitely feels antiquated.

A harrowing look at post-partum psychosis.  I cannot imagine living or being the partner of this lived experience.

Grim as hell!!
slow-paced

This was obsequious to the extreme.  I'm reading a biography of every US president in order and the tone that this book is written with varies pretty wildly from others, so much that I am not quite sure I can accept the information as written.  It's a shame, it was a struggle to find an approachable biography of James Monroe.

Gory, intense!  Still really enjoying this one!

This is a fun, gory revisionist take on the Lewis and Clack expedition with a bit of The Last of Us thrown in.  Quick read, the art is top notch.
