Had an interesting premise, but I found the story and characters shallow. I was also confused how they seem to be a less-advanced, post apocalypse us, but still quote Jane Austen and Shakespeare.
I found this book to be less intense than the first one. The first half didn't grip me too much but everything moved much faster in the second half.
I devoured this book in an afternoon, it was much better than I expected. I got slightly frustrated with Kaspar's attitude, but I otherwise enjoyed it.
I expected more of a run-in with traditional characters, but this was still fun to read. Enough of a thrill at the end to make you want another book
I still find that I don't love any of her characters, I know Autumn had depression and I shouldn't judge her for that, but even afterwards I found her annoying. I enjoyed the first book more, but I'll probably still give the third one a chance.
Still very much like The Hunger Games, but unique enough that I really enjoyed it. The ending caught me off guard, I look forward to book 3.
Fantastic! The series just keeps getting better and better, and each ending gives me anxiety for the next.
I didn't love the town, or the water horses, or most of the story. I did love Sean and Puck though, which surprised me.
I found that the whole book felt like a prologue, it started getting interesting just as it ended. I understand that it's a series and the author wanted to leave you desperate for the next book, it just felt too forced and sudden.
Very different plot compared to the other mermaid books I've read, but I found Tempest herself kind of weak and she didn't actually achieve anything herself.. I know she's only 17 and thrown into all of this with no knowledge or what's going on, but other female leads in other series have adapted much better.
