A nice quick read at the airport, the plot was simple but just interesting enough that I would like to get book 2.

It was an interesting view of the horse race society, but for a mystery it was quite slow and lackluster. Everything seemed to fall into place too conveniently, without much effort.

Maybe all "chick-lit" is like this and I'm just not familiar, but this was terrible. It was flighty and confusing, the characters didn't stand out, and it was simply ridiculous in the way these strong, independent women gave up their lives within an hour of meeting a man. I was not impressed.

Definitely not what I expected. It was superficial and crass, read like a teenager's first novel not an experienced author's. It was fast paced but I didn't its pushy attempt to be modern, or the language and context.

A great read by one of my favorite authors.

I normally love his books, but I found this one really slow and hard to get through. Made me really miss the others.

A great classic.

I like the post-apocalypse twist in these books, the others feel more like LOTR - set in a world seperate from ours. I enjoy how he's brought the setting onto a familiar map, but still kept all of his usual touches.
