Better than I expected, very fast paced. Can't wait to read book 3!

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. I did not enjoy the book, I was too distracted by the lack of proofreading and editing. It felt like the author wrote it in one go and never went back to re-read it. There were continuity issues and plot holes, and characters thrown in every which way. The swearing and repetition felt juvenile.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. The first third of the book and the last few chapters I found confusing, lots of switching between characters and times. The middle was really good though, and fast paced.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. Surprisingly good, found a few characters weren't wrapped up as much as I would have liked, but the plot was very gripping and fast moving.

Pretty good, a bit predictable but faster paced than the last book.

This was like a fast paced, plot-lacking version of Twilight. Started out with promise then got predictable and ended abruptly.

Very fast read, but still felt like not a lot happened for the number of pages. I liked how they showed glimpses of Setrakus's past and the council.

Started out really interesting and I enjoyed the debate about empathy in androids. The market for live animals was really catching as well. I started losing interest towards the end, and got confused about what the characters were doing and who Mercer was. Felt like the book should have continued past the ending.

Upon receiving this book as a hand-me-down, I realized it looked familiar because I had to read it in a class in college. I remembered absolutely nothing about the plot, and even having re-read it now, only two small sections seemed familiar. I found it disjointed and confusing, and ultimately unenjoyable and nonsensical.

Better than book #2, their relationship was a bit more stable and less of a yoyo. Still not impressed with either character, they're all ridiculous children.
