I found the first half to be a bit slower, and was a bit overwhelmed by all the characters thrown at me all at once. But after she meets the other witches it really picks up and I quite enjoyed it.

Absolutely loved it. One of my favorites by far.

I wasn't impressed by pompous Rowan at first, but he really grew on me as their relationship changed. Most of the book kind of dawdled, it was all just training and scouting, but things got pretty intense at the end.

I loved this book! I found the plot comparable to The Hunger Games at every turn, while still being original enough to be fast paced and exciting. I'm definitely going to be going out to get book two.

I picked up this book a year and a half after reading the first 3, and I would have really benefitted from reviewing the series first. I thought I remembered enough going in, but I spent a majority of the book trying to remember who people are and what events had taken place. Maybe it was the amount of time I took between books 3 and 4, but I found this one didn't flow as well and I wasn't as absorbed. It felt like some events and characters were just filler and had nothing to do with the outcome.

I read this for the "A New York Times Bestseller For More Than 10 Weeks" part of my 2018 reading challenge. It was fantastic and insightful and real, it didn't read as too childish or too adult, it found it's voice perfectly. And it's a voice everyone needs to hear.

I read this for the "A Book Published in 2018" part of my 2018 reading challenge. I found this book so fascinating that I read it in one day. The story line was really original, and while the ending wasn't exactly happy, it did end better than I thought it was going to.

I read this for the "A Book Published In 2019" part of my 2019 reading challenge. I found it started a little slow, but Jude and Cardan were fantastic together and I was really surprised by the ending.

I received this book from LibraryThing in exchange for a review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. I loved every minute of this. From the second I realized it was a Rumpelstiltskin adaptation, I was hooked. The story started with that, but it was So. Much. More. It had romance and adventure and friendship and magic and drama and hardship and just everything. It was a delicious ride to the very end, and I was demanding a sequel before I was even half way through. Some parts of it were a bit of a predictable YA trope (which I enjoy and find comforting) but parts of it caught me off guard and I didn't see coming (which I also enjoy). Overall, one of my favorite things I've read in a while and I greatly look forward to other work by this author.

I read this for the "Title Beginning With C" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I loved it, it was fierce and moving and her strength was incredible. The author clearly put a lot of work into the research behind this and The Tattooist of Auschwitz and her dedication shows.
