I read this for the "An Author Local To You" part of my 2020 reading challenge. The timelines flipping back & forth confused me a little, otherwise it was an interesting story of a woman's Italian heritage and their life in Edmonton and Calabria.

This was a really short but adorable story on how Alexia and Lord Maccon met, and it really makes me want to re-read the entire series. I love all of Gail Carriger's books, and this one is no exception. Her world-building is excellent, and all of her characters are unique and diverse. I love her sense of humor and the wacky things she adds in, each book is super clever and makes me laugh.

This book is full of hilarious and snarky Cross-Stitch patterns and I am so excited to get started!

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. I started this book feeling pretty unsure, and I ended up loving it. The story switches timelines between Then and Now and it took me a while to get used to that and remember what was going on. The holes in Anna’s memory were both exciting and frustrating; I was able to guess one of the surprises around the ending but not any of the others. There were a number of loose ends around the ¾ mark, and I was mostly happy with how they were all wrapped up by the end. The final confession did seem a bit too easy, but it wasn’t a completely unlikely scenario. While being slightly frustrating at times, I still found the book hard to put down and I stayed up late to finish it. This also met the "Written In First Person" part of my 2020 reading challenge.

I loved every second of this. It was adorable, funny, charming, and everything I'd hoped for and come to expect from Gail Carriger. I really wish it had been longer, but I'm very much looking forward to starting the rest of the series.

I read this for the "Set In Winter" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was a cute book, I really enjoyed the artwork and the idea of rabbits gathering to sing.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. The artwork was beautiful, but I didn’t enjoy the story. I think I understand the message it was trying to get across, but it felt too simple and abstract and I feel like it missed the mark. It could have used a few more pages to really flesh out the point it was trying to make. I was able to use this as the "A Book With Illustrations" part of my 2020 reading challenge.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. Oh. My. God. I’ll be honest, the first 10% of this book didn’t really grab me, but I was sucked into the rest of it and couldn’t put it down. I even snuck in some reading while I was at work, cause I just had to finish it. The characters are delightfully sweet and perfectly awkward, and their rivalry/romance was very well done. I felt every emotion they did, and loved the whole roller coaster ride of them. I loved how honest and open Rowan and Neil are, and I shipped them hard. I was not disappointed. I haven’t read Rachel Lynn Solomon’s other books, but I’ll be definitely picking them up after this.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. I loved this; I read most of the book in a single day. Just like The Last House Guest, Megan Miranda has put together another amazing thriller. I really enjoyed how you kept learning new facts about both events slowly, as the character did, and it was impossible to predict the ending. The story is split between two cases, how Arden went missing while sleepwalking and the body that Olivia found now. Each chapter has a section of police report or interview dating back 20 years to Widow Hills, which I found slowed down the plot a little, but it was interesting to see what people were saying at the time and it becomes relevant later. Overall I thought the whole premise was fascinating and Arden/Olivia was a really believable character.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review here and on my blog Samwise Reviews. I love capybaras, and this was a really cute story explaining them. I enjoyed the artwork and how simple and straightforward the narrative was. I would have liked a bit of adventure and a bit more plot, but the capybara’s description of himself is quite enjoyable. I was able to use this in the "Published in 2020" part of my 2020 reading challenge.
