I found this to be a bit of a common story, but it was enjoyable all the way through and there were some twists at the end that I'm looking forward to hearing more about in the next book.
I found the character to be a bit abrasive, but the book was interesting enough and flowed so fast I finished it in an entire day.
The blurb for this book sounded really exciting, and the plot did move quickly, but overall I found it a bit annoying and I was unhappy with the ending.
This was a collection of essays, which I am learning I never enjoy. The first one was enough to make me want to quit the book entirely. The ones on Divorce and her Bookstore were redeeming and I enjoyed those, but the rest just dragged.
I read this for the "A Character With A Career You Wish You Had" part of my 2019 reading challenge. I found it pretty slow and I didn't care for a lot of the sections, which surprised me because I really enjoyed reading it the first time a few years ago. It was still extremely educational and I would love to go visit the area one day.
I read this for the "Military Related" part of my 2019 reading challenge. It was my first Tom Clancy and overall I didn't enjoy it. I found the first 2/3 of the book had too many characters to keep track of and multiple pages of gun details was unnecessary. The final 1/3 was good and I was actually interested in what was going on, but then the ending felt rushed and tied up too conveniently.
This was a really pleasant mystery/ghost story/romance. I didn't find the characters were very deep or remarkable, but I enjoyed the story.
I read this for the "A Book About A Cult" part of my 2019 reading challenge. I wouldn't necessarily consider most books about religion to be a "cult" book, but her father was an extreme and I feel like their lifestyle specifically and his fanatic attitude is fitting to this. I enjoyed this book much more than I expected to and I hope she continues to be strong and move forward.
This is more of a 2.5, almost a 3. It was captivating, I finished it very quickly and found it difficult to put down, but I'm not sure I enjoyed it. The character felt uptight the whole time which made me uptight, it wasn't a relaxing read. The twist at the end wasn't super surprising, but I expected the book to end happier.
I wasn't sure what this book was about when I picked it up, but it was fantastic. I loved the story and the characters and I highly recommend it.
