I'm not sure what ending I was expecting exactly, but I felt a little let down by this one. Still very much like The Hunger Games with all the divisions, and ending with the Capital being torn up with no solid plans to fix it. I would have liked more of a post-war story as well.

This book was fantastic, but had so much going on at the end that it's going to take some time to process. I enjoy how the series is linked, and I look forward to starting the next one.

I read this for the "a book with a character sharing your name " part of my 2018 reading challenge. I didn't love it, I was annoyed for the first 3/4 then it picked up a bit at the end. Apparently not a lot of books have a "Lindsey".

I read this for the "A Young-Adults Bestseller" part of my 2018 reading challenge. I read this book in one day, it was fantastic. It reminded me both of Tamora Pierce and of Court of Mists and Fury. There were enough twists that I was caught off guard a few times, and I really really can't wait for book 2.

I read this for the "A Book Set In The Middle East" part of my 2018 reading challenge. This was fantastic! Having not loved The Kite Runner I was a bit unsure at first, but it turned out to be terrific. I loved the different stories and the connections between all of the characters, and I thought the ending was really touching and well done.

I read this for the "A Book With Bad Reviews" part of my 2018 reading challenge. I understand it's book 5 in the series and I haven't read the first 4, but every other time I read a book farther into a series it still spends a chapter explaining the characters and previous events. This one didn't, it just jumped right in and I had no idea who anyone was or what these "dama" and "shama" titles meant. I was confused the entire first half of the book, the plot condensed more in the second and made a little more sense, but not by much.

I thought this volume was just as good as her first one, I loved all of the poems and her writing style.

A great start to the series, I like how well it sets everything up and introduces characters without being too overwhelming.

This book was phenomenal, it was a wild ride with everything I could ask of a YA and now that I'm done I physically miss it. This will take some time to process and I cannot wait for book two.

I remember having read this years ago, and I think I enjoyed it more then. It was still a very interesting autobiography and I'd like to read more of his life from where it ended.
