Just lost interest after I found out we don't know what he does tbh

I just got to the line

and I inadvertently ended the First World War

and it just gave me the ick...

I wanted to like this and even tried a couple of times! I loved the premise but this just wasn't for me. It sort of felt that the story was confusing and I often didn't really know what was going on. The characters never really came to live past being shitty people in pain. Eating disorders, gore, trauma etc. were all handled in sometimes not the best way for me personally.

read 100 pages in 5 days which tells me I'm really not vibing with it. I just found the pacing weird and some of the prose really off and didn't make any sense, which was starting to annoy me. I know a few people with brilliant taste who love this book so there is definitely an audience for it, it just wasn't for me!

This put me in a little slump tbh...I'm not a fan of the writing style but I'm sure a lot of people would love it

Tbh I just have no real desire to finish this at the moment. Nothing against the book i think i just tried reading it at the wrong time and never really got invested in it.
