Another excellent choice from Rundell, about a girl and her mother who retrain wolves to live in the wild. When the wolves attack the wrong man, Feo's mother is arrested and taken to St. Petersburg. Feo must rely on her wits and some new friends to save her mother and the wolves.
I've never heard of wolf wilding before, and I was a little disappointed to see that it's not really a thing, although other animals are sometimes wilded--let out of zoos I suppose. Still, I enjoyed this story about a girl with companions that she respects but also understands they aren't pets.

This book is beautiful. It's beautiful in appearance and beautiful writing. I loved this one so much. It's intimidating in size and historical fiction, which is generally appealing to me, but not necessarily the general public. However, they should all pick this one up! It's the story of four people: Otto, Friedrich, Michael, and Ivy. Their stories end up connected by a harmonica and a love of music, eventually ending with most of the characters meeting. There's also a fairy tale aspect with three sisters interacting with Otto. Each story is heartbreaking. Friedrich is in Germany while the Nazi party is rising in power. Michael is an orphan trying to stay with his brother and find a family. Ivy is trying to deal with her brother being away in WWII and also being segregated from the local school due to her race.
This was a book I had a hard time putting down, and also a book that made me want to pick up my instrument and play again (or get a ukelele, or get a harmonica.)

I liked this one quite a lot. I thought that the main trio of characters were well-rounded. I enjoyed the environmental aspect of the book, and the inclusion of Senate hearings.
This book is a great mystery, and also deals with some tough issues such as a parent with mental illness. I want to know more about Footer and her escapades.
What a fun picture book about trucks!
I love these gently interactive picture books.
Great writing, great characterization. I hope a lot of kids in my area read this book about a mixed-race girl with big dreams reacting to an almost all-white world. It takes place in 1969, but I could honestly see the same exact reactions happening today, 47 years later.
This is a fantastic mystery. A mysterious benefactor invites six children to visit her, with one of them gaining an incredible inheritance. However, she seems very suspicious and a little too fond of knives. Can Tabitha solve the mystery in time? I was genuinely surprised by some of the twists and turns (others were predictable), but I would hand this to any mystery lover, particularly of ones that feel British.
