Great for storytime, fun discussion of food.

I had never heard of Hazel Ying Lee, but I think her story (and the story of other female pilots) should be more well known. Leung does a great job of explaining to her audience what Lee went through while not overwhelming her audience.

If you need an Earth Day book, this is a cute one.

I wanted to dip my toes into Butler's work to get an idea of what it was like, so I decided to start with the graphic novel. I think I will read the original eventually, because I imagine it must be just as (if not more) powerful than this work.

I love Yang's writing. This one takes an interesting format, where some of it is told from Yang's father's perspective, and some from hers. I cried at the end when Bee is able to go to Thailand. Yang is a beautiful writer and I look forward to reading more of her work.

I kind of wish I had read all three together, because there were definitely some things I had forgotten by the time this book rolls around. Oh well. It's a good ending, although it feels a little abrupt to me. Still very readable. I enjoyed the Grey sections most of all, followed by Lia Mara and Harper.
