Henry likes the routine of his classroom. Then he has to get used to a new routine when the school is going to have a parade! Can he work with the kids in his classroom to get used to something new?

I didn't like who would win and I disagree but it's a good overview of both quarterback's careers.

This wouldn't have been my choice for the Newbery, but it was fine. I can see it having slightly more kid appeal than adult appeal, especially as a read-aloud. Animal books are always a winner, and I think this story about a dog in a park being eyes for some bison would be quite appealing.

This is the conclusion of Octavian's story, and while it is a bit slow, one thing I appreciated about it was the fact that it complicates the view of the Revolutionary War that we are given. What would a Black person do during the war to be free? Which side would be the right side?

This is a really powerful story about a girl, Inmate Eleven, who is being kept in a secret facility. She's not sure why, but finds out she's a genetic match for a powerful Clone and will likely be used to keep him alive. Inmate Eleven discovers the secret of Black History in America, and the story has ripple effects back to our present. A powerful story for all to read.

Interesting premise, not fully sold on the follow-through

I came into this book with a bit of a chip on my shoulder, and I didn't have it knocked off by this author in any way. Therefore, I don't think a review of mine will be particularly helpful here, as I came in biased and left biased. The only reason I finished is because it's so short.

I enjoyed this book as a study of England in a time I am not familiar with, and a look at a now-forgotten writer. I think it meandered a bit too much for me.

Took break, was raising blood pressure

When I went back, it was very good, but phew I wish we were further from it.

This is a pretty good story about how Doric came to be the druid we know her to be in the movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. It also explains her shifting into an owlbear, which is not something druids can normally do. I also liked that it addressed the way people feel about tieflings, which I think is a good thing to explore.
