I enjoyed this one, but for other readers, I will give some caveats. The story is different than the play. It is also different from actual history. (Of course, the play is too.) I think if you are looking for a lighthearted historical romance in the modern vernacular you will enjoy it.
Nice stories. It was good to see non-hetero relationships in "good" settings but I wish there were more in the main story, rather than these side stories.
Pretty good. I enjoyed the mystery and I think kids will too. I do have some issues with Albert's characterization (I agree with the reviewers who have reservations about how her weight is treated) but overall I thought it was excellent.
One of the most beautifully written series I have ever read. Love, love, love it. I love all the ships. I don't really have great words for my feelings about it, just that it is wonderful and that I stayed up late reading it.
This one is pretty cute. I enjoyed it and it gave me all the squeals.
I did think the physical aspects of the relationship went quickly, especially for inexperienced people, but that might be my own bias talking.

I liked this one better than the first one. I'm not sure that was a high bar to leap, because this book had a female character that was described in a non-sexual way, which was more than King could manage in book one of this series. I enjoyed meeting all the new characters, and the basic plot of the book. I want to know more about this Tower Roland is searching for, but I am assuming that will come with time.
I did like this one, but I have to admit that I had a really hard time with how Penny described Cri (spelling? I listened to it on audio). Anyway, at the beginning of the book, when she was described as overweight, she was also described as grotesque. And yeah, that ties into the plot or whatever, but I honestly thought this series would be better than fat-shaming, especially of a child. I almost stopped listening. I got past it, and I'm glad I did, but that left an awful taste in my mouth.
