I will never be fond of the title of this series, but it was an enjoyable collection of stories.
I liked this one a lot. I thought it was very readable, the math was a fun aspect, and the characters believable.
I loved this book and I am sad the series is drawing to an end.
I wasn't familiar with many of the works Sontag was reviewing, which made certain essays a bit of a slog for me. I'd like to get the book back at a later time, however, because I think "On Camp" would be very interesting. I did like "Against Interpretation" and wouldn't mind reviewing that at a later time as well.
I doubt anyone would accuse me of being a regular sci-fi reader, especially military sci-fi. I read this book on the recommendation of Miss Gail Carriger. To my surprise, once I got into it, I enjoyed it. It did take me a while, as I'm not used to jumping into the middle of the action with multiple alien races. I felt like I was just waiting for something to happen (which, of course, I was.) If I didn't need to return the book, I might have gone straight into reading book 2.
I read the first six chapters on WattPad and then switched to this one. I'm still not sure I entirely understand the worldbuilding, but I can get past it enough to enjoy the series. I've just requested the last one.
I enjoyed this book about Oddly Normal, a girl who is half witch, half human. Middle school is middle school, no matter where you are. It does end on a cliffhanger, so I want to know what's next. I'm curious if it's a webcomic or where it was published previously. I just haven't done the research on that yet.
I think this is a must for Maine libraries. Chester Greenwood is known as the inventor of earmuffs, but was he really? How did he come to be known as such? A great look at research and how sometimes there aren't really answers.
I loved Don. Would I want to date him personally? No. I did find him hilarious, and I enjoyed being in his brain, but he'd be a hard person to get along with. I do think that the ending is a bit pat, but I'm debating about whether or not I want to pick up "The Rosie Effect" right now or read all the YA I've been waiting for.
