A great book for fans of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid/Dork Diaries type story. I would rate it closer in content to The Popularity Papers series (which in my opinion, makes it rise above the previous two series mentioned)
For someone who says repeatedly that they hate reading books about rape, it's often the ones that deal with rape that leave me the most moved and changed. I think this book is essential for every high school collection. A moving title that will stay with you for a long time.
I enjoyed this book, and the magical realism. I know this is silly, and petty, but there were a few pages where I thought, "If I hear the word magic one more time, I might scream." Which seem really silly, as it is in the title and what the book is about! If I ignore that, I think it will be a spindiddly book for the right reader.
An insightful look at the LePage administration. I do wish sources had been cited, either by footnotes or endnotes, so I could go back and look at where he got his information.
