I really enjoyed this book. I learned a great deal about dolphins.

My only real quibble (and it's a big one, for me) was one of the captions of the photos. It identified the person as the girlfriend of a male researcher. In other photos this woman appears in, she is called a dolphin researcher. Why label her as a girlfriend then? This probably looms big in my mind because I was appalled by the reaction to L'Wren Scott as "Mick Jagger's girlfriend", rather than celebrating the woman in her own right. Don't we all want to be something more than someone else's spouse?

A classic I had never read before. I selected a poem from the book for "Poem in my Pocket" Day. A great choice.

I read this for a book club. I was a bit confused when the main character wasn't named "James Bond" and now I'll need to research how that happened! Anyway, I enjoyed the read and was caught up in the suspense, even though I know I've seen the movie.

The cover of the book threw me a bit; I was expecting a graphic novel for some reason. That could have just been me though. Anyway, I've read and enjoyed Sheinkin's books before, so I knew to expect something well-researched and well-written. It was both those things, and another compelling story. I am horrified I have never heard this story before and I believe it should be taught in high schools across the country.

Now I finally have read a work by Dickens. Also, I now know who Miss Haversham is. Yay, cultural knowledge!

I can still follow a map somewhat, but I must admit I am very reliant on GPS. I cannot imagine being Eleanor Prentiss, brave enough to navigate New York to San Francisco around Cape Horn using a sextant. A brave soul. It also continues my assertion that Eleanor is a powerful name.

Eh. I was disappointed. "Princesses Are Not Quitters" was better. This one seemed to be weird catty infighting followed by inexplicable sudden lack of caring for appearance. I'm sure it will find its place, as all princess books do. I wouldn't consider it a must-have purchase.
