Beautiful pictures of baby girls all over the world!

I enjoyed learning about Bettie Mae Jumper, a woman who fought to go to school and fought for her tribe her whole life.

I liked it, although it is quite different from the show. I appreciate both, and can definitely see how the book is a jumping off point for the show. My favorite part of the book was the examination of our prison system and the humanizing look at the people within it.

I think I need to go back and reread it because I read it so fast! I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had slowed down. I initially thought it was too violent, and then at the end I thought it ended too neatly! OH well.
