Cats with wings are trying to find a place to live. A nice quick read that I would guess works well as a read-aloud.
I think I might like this better than (book: The Ninth Ward). I can't put my finger on exactly what it was. However, unlike last year, I would be totally happy if either of these books won the Newbery.
This is obviously the most awesome review I have written.

I'm not sure this would have been my pick, but I haven't read any of the other titles on the list. I'm not sure I have anything to add to the other reviews that have been published and are quite good. I'll let you read those and make up your mind.

These books remind me of everything I loved about Harry Potter. I do like the fact that it has a great female heroine too, and I think it tackles Egyptian mythology quite well. I am looking forward to reading the next one in the series as well.
I liked this book better than some of the others. I hope the next one comes out on audiobook soon!
I re-read this for my YA lit. class this semester. I still enjoyed it just as much as I did the first time I read it.
Newbery Winner 2011
I really enjoyed this book. The tone reminded me of the narrator in Shawshank Redemption. I also really liked the dual narratives between 1918 and 1936. There was an element of mystery. I also really enjoyed other historical aspects, which I don't want to go heavily into because I'm afraid it will spoil the book.
I don't know if kids will enjoy it as much as I did. I guess some of my friends will have to read it and let me know.

I love Dyna Moe's illustrations. I can't wait to try making some of the cocktails (and some of the recipes, to be honest). A good book for any fan of the show.
