Madeline Martin has become a new favourite author. I did get lost on which pov I was following at points which dropped this a half star but this was still a great read. And I can’t wait for their next book.

This is one book where I know I need to go back and re-read it. Like I enjoyed it but I kind of feel like I would of enjoyed it more if I was more focused on the audiobook. But, at the same time I also feel like my rating won’t change. This was an interesting book in the series so far for that alone.

10/10 children’s book

How the Murder Crumbles

Usually I would just push through the book especially when it’s been okay. But, I just couldn’t bring myself to pick this back up as I didn’t really care about the mystery. This was my first cozy murder mystery book so this might just be a normal cozy mystery and this could just not be the right genre for me.

I wish we saw more of the characters in the beginning to flesh them out more and make me care about them. But, what I read was a solid three star.

Thank you to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Publishing for the audiobook arc.

I get why child me loved this but as soon as you move past the maturity level this is intended for (at least for me) you’ll get quite annoyed with the main character.

This was an absolute chore to get through until the last three chapters. But, again a younger audience specifically from elementary to maybe sixth grade would most likely really enjoy this series.

A great classic chapter book.

This is exactly the type of middle grade book that I love. It had mystery, books, a writer, cats, mice and ghosts. I only wish I knew of more people who loved middle grade books so that I could put this book in their hands once it publishes. The audiobook was amazing as well. And I can’t wait to pick up my own physical copy.

Thank you to Macmillian and NetGalley for the arc of the audiobook.

This barely made it to a four star. But, it did have things that peaked my interest and made this more than an okay read. I definitely recommend not skipping this and giving it a try because even though it might not work for most people it might work for you. This has a lot of things that I enjoyed in the past books the only difference is the world and what is the normal through the door.

I’ll have to think on it more but this might be my least favourite of the series but it could also be my second least favourite.
