This made me smile, cringe in embarrassment, and it broke my heart at times. I related to both  Luke and Emmett which was surprising to be honest. When I first heard about this book I was so excited and instantly thought I would love this. And I’m glad to say I was right.

The atmosphere was nostalgic and gave me a cozy feeling. I loved the characters, the Dolly references were great and this is a book I can see myself re-reading many times in the future. I highly recommend this.

I love world building and I knew going into this that there wasn’t going to be much since this is an apocalypse book but I was hoping for more about before this takes place. I liked the characters but I didn’t fall in love with them. That being said the ending solidified this as a 3.5 for me and I’m looking forward to continuing with the series.

I enjoyed this more than the first book but I did have problems with it. Aka I really didn’t care for Teressa, I didn’t care for how much Thomas blindly trusted and loved her and the amount of times he passes out or sleeps is a lot.

I came into this book expecting to relate quite a bit and for this to change me in some way but I think I read this a little too late for it to have a greater impact on me. I didn’t relate to much until about 45% of the way into the book which was honestly a disappointment. If I had read this two years ago possibly even a year ago this definitely would have given me the impact I was looking for. But, I didn’t and this took me quite a while to even care about the characters which has left me feeling meh about the book. I did get teary-eyed at the end of part 4 which made me question my rating if I’m being honest. Sadly, I think this is going on my unhaul pile though. Loveless on its own is a 3 Stars book for me.

The Hands Against Our Hearts short story I quite enjoyed, I even related to Pip in some parts of her chapters and chuckled at a part… tbh the short story might of just saved this book from the unhaul pile. But, that’s a big might I’m going to give it a few days before I decide. 4.5 Stars for the short story.
