Age: Infant
Identity: Various indigenous families, author is Dogrib (Tlicho) Dene

The photographs of families and babies are perfect to hold baby's interest and the text is a kind reminder for adults to teach their children to have enough love, kindness, and care to live fulfilling lives (as the text is a bit too elevated for babies/toddlers/preschoolers). I can't wait for the next Van Camp book!

Age: All Ages, can be used in bilingual early elementary classrooms
Identity, characters: multicultural
Identity, author: Colombian American
Identity, illustrator: Mexican American

A brown-skinned girl and a red-headed boy start a musical parade as the text encourages friendship of all kinds, regardless of the languages we speak. 123 Andrés created a Spanish and English song that encompass the same ideas but are not direct translations of each other. In this book, the English text is on the left page and the Spanish text is on the right page. A note from the band recommends reading one or the other or both. What a fantastic concept!

This would be an excellent addition to all Spanish/English bilingual households and classrooms. I hope they create this in a larger format!

Age: Infant-Toddler

An interactive guessing game invites listeners to observe who is making a mess. Babies will love seeing adults and family members participating in their favorite pastime: getting messy.

Age: Infant-Toddler

Calming, sleepy expressions are paired with goodnight farewells to six farm animals. After you say goodnight, open the flap to reveal the animal sleeping in a bed paired with the animal's sound. Kind of a bummer that the lift-the-flap wasn't a bedsheet to cover them up but Joyce Wan's illustrations are always bold and perfect for little eyes--and virtual storytimes.

Age: All ages
Series: Coats, Wings, Butts, Horns, Scales

A delightful series with crisp photography and white backgrounds--perfect for a tantalizing guessing game. The animals aren't the usual bunch so these books introduce some unique vocabulary for all ages.

Age: Toddler-1st grade

An absolute delight to read-aloud in your best LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLE voice. An instant favorite for my 4-year-old.

Age: Infant-Toddler

Recognizable yoga poses are made accessible for baby & toddler participation. Flowing text that rhymes and adorable photographs of babies make this instantly appealable for read-alouds and virtual storytimes. There are plenty of yoga books out there for kids but this stands out for its simple presentation, rhyming text, and crisp photography.

Age: Toddler-preschool
Family: Mom and daughter

A mother and daughter share an active walk to the park. The illustrations show the mother and child talking and engaging with their surroundings and the narration is full of tender words. The rhyme scheme is unique and delightfully refreshing for a board book, giving this an extra special spot on every child's bookshelf.

Age: Toddler-Kindergarten
Emotions: Mindfulness, frustration

Neon and pastel colors blend in an incredibly appealing way for young listeners and virtual screens. Step by step, the listeners are invited to imitate the bunny as he sniffs in and breaths out while he scampers through the forest looking for carrots. A great technique for calming down from powerful emotions. Kira is a leading musician in yoga and mindfulness and her books are no different. So glad to have these for children!

Age: Infant-Toddler (Board Book)
Emotions: Mad, worried, sad

With every other turn of the page, the panels of the bear's face change before your eyes. My 2-year-old daughter is obsessed with this book and it ends with a sweet hug between Happy Bear and his mother.

Series: Don't Wake the Tiger, Is That Your Dad?, and I Love You Elephant
