A beautifully written feminist, sapphic retelling of the myth of Arachne. The storytelling and novel in verse format are nearly flawless, but there are some inconsistencies in the character developement, and as a school librarian I'm not sure how much the premise, cover, or story itself will appeal to young readers. Definitely a worthwhile read though, and one that has the potential to be loved by a very specific reader. 

Faith Erin Hicks can do no wrong. Straight sports girlie and bi theatre boy. We love to see it. 

Fantastic world building, lovable characters, page-turning pacing, and a delightful level of chills. River has heart, humor, and spunk, and their journey from fear to hero is touching and relatable. The writing never misses. Plus, it has an ending that leaves things open for future books. Couldn't find a thing not to love.
