A touching, powerful story told in the day of the life of an indigenous 6th grader. This was my first time reading Christine Day’s work, but it won’t be my last.

Thoughtful, informative, beautifully formatted and paced. I didn't expect this type of story to come with a twist I didn't see coming that was truly rewarding. Overall this is a beautiful story, but the appeal leans slightly more towards adults than children.

Haven’t read children’s nonfiction this propulsive since All Thirteen. The writing was just outstanding and built to keep you turning pages. My whole family got sucked in. Will not be surprised if this gets some awards love. 

3 for the story, 5 for Meryl. 

This one warmed my heart so much. Will is dealing with a newly diagnosed chronic illness, friendship struggles, changes in his hobbies, questions of religion and sexual identity, and more. Somehow the author manages to cover all these topics and make them feel true to Will's experience rather than preachy, probably because they are authentic to the author's experience. I think there are many kids who will feel so comforted and seen by this story in one way or another.

A fantastic anthology that kept my attention the whole way. Favorite stories were White Hills, Quantum, Snakes are Born in the Dark, Before I Go, The Prepper, Capgras, and Collections.
