this book was fully unique. We have a queen and her feet do not live in shoes. Honestly, I don’t blame her. Her feet may want to play in the mud run in the sand or we’re completely inappropriate shoes but the queen still has a job to do. After gathering as many people in the land that know anything about feet as possible, they’ve come up with a plan so that the queen can be the queen hope county means what I really like about this book is the story is simple, but fun, but the illustrations. The illustrations and part remind me of some of the jazz sessions of Sesame Street. things like the number song when they count to 12. That type of atlas illustration. Sometimes that type illustration can feel old but in this book that illustration feels unique and perfect for the story.

X in the alpha tails gives us an x-ray fish, one who not only can see with x-rays and see-through item, but also has a see-through body. This book does what it set up to do. Which is to give a book, highly focused on the letter X. I even admit in writing in the back of the book that explodes are hard to come by and it’s not wrong. This may be scraping the bottom of a very old bucket but in need of a X book this one will do.

This LGBTQ positive historical graphic novel is about a stagecoach bobber and her hostage. Her hostage becomes not only her love interest, but her co-conspirator in a plan to steal from the wealthy and set off in a new life. This is a quick, fun story that anyone’s sure to enjoy it. In the back, the author gives you different info tidbit about events taking place on different pages. They include information about real trans soldiers as well as historical movements, and things that happened. Overall, this is well done. It was a very entertaining and interesting read.

I really enjoy the princess candy graphic novels. They are an elementary school graphic novel about a young girl named Hilo, who is gifted superpower candy from her aunt Pandora. Different situations require different superpowers that she gains but eating a tasty treat. She always has the best of intentions and always wants to make sure people are treated nicely. fairly, and the whole world is a better place. This book put all of her stories (of which there are four) into one binding. Kids will I love the colorful pop art as well as the simple but fun and loving stories.

There is lots of great information in this book. It’s put in a graphic novel format that is easy for most people to read and understand. However, I do not find it as successful as its companion, books. The reason being is that this information is being given to the reader by a snail. And there are little stories in between each chapter that are about some type of “being” wanting to be different. I understand the purpose of the mini stories between the chapters but it’s the snail. Sometimes the snail does let human characters take over talking about certain subjects, but for the most part, it’s a snail. Maybe this is done to reach a younger audience. Who knows it’s just such a weird way to present this book as compared to its companion books. Overall while the information is good, the way it’s presented makes this a book I will not be putting in our collection.

This graphic novel is a trans girl fantasy. Our main character Ash has been struggling with their identity. Their mother is gone, but she was a writer who made up a magical world. One day Ash ends up in this magical world with their friends and the secret of this world is that only girls are allowed. So, Ash feels elated that this secret area chose them, and that their feelings of being a girl are reflected and approved. This world is part Watership Down, part Neverland. Just when one thinks that Ash and their friends are going to solve the problems in this world, turns out that the problems are boys and Ash realizes that maybe it wasn’t the world telling her she’s a girl. In order for this world, invented by her mother to be saved she’s going to have to find her true self and her true power and get her and her friends safely home. This book is a bit of a slow read, but in the end it is worth it. It was an enjoyable adventure especially for those who already enjoy fantasy with anthropomorphic characters. However, there’s something deeper and darker in here. This land invented by her mother is all about fear. Fear is what gives it power. But her mother’s greatest fear was a man. That is never addressed, and I wish it was. The end of the book makes it seem like there will be further adventures and if there are I will check into them because while this was a slow read, it was a good one.

4 Town is the band in the Turning Red Disney movie. This graphic novel is about the band. However, I’m not exactly sure who the audience for this graphic novel is. At times it feels like it is for a middle grade however, with the “Dad” issues and the meet cute love interest feel makes it feel more adult. This is one of those things that I think is It’s meant for about six grade and that’s who will read it. I would much rather read about the characters from Turning Red, which I think was a fantastic story.

This is a nonfiction look at the lifespan of a glacier. It covers both how glaciers move and how they warm, and all the animals in creatures living on above or below the glacier. The book is well done, and the illustrations are quite interesting, I do wish however, they had included more real pictures. There is one in the very back but it’s small.

Did you know in the native language of the region Axolotl means water monster? But it’s not a monster, an axolotl is a type of salamander that never loses its gills and fins. This book is both a story and a nonfiction book about axolotls, why they are endangered, and how we can help them. It’s lovingly done and beautifully illustrated. Lots of kids will like learning about an animal not habitually seen outside of aquariums in the US.

The story is a nice poem from a mother to a son. It rhymes decently well and has a nice cadence. It would be a lovely read for any age. The best illustration is on the cover, and it seems so different from the rest of the illustrations inside. The illustrations aren’t bad, but are an older style of art or less practiced style of art. Overall, the book was nice and fun, but it’s not one that’ll sit on a bookshelf at a library for 20 years.
