I do believe this is the sequel to Your Birthday was the Best! I loved that book. I still find this book cute and loveable. A family of cockroaches hitch a ride to school in their human friend’s backpack and school shenanigans ensue. I do have a problem though. Most kids seen with cockroaches coming out of their backpacks would be a cause for concern and could have dire consequences. It would appear that the family needs help and others might get involved. So while I take this book with a grain of salt and love it for what it is, I think many others may have a problem as these cockroaches could be seen as unhealthy or as family that is not taking care of their child.

This book was simple and fun. The kids in story time would have a blast making all the sounds and actions. Plus, the illustration are soft and fell like the tiniest of totes with a warm hug. Loved this book, and it will make a great addition to any library.

The thing with the Little People Big World books is that they are too happy. They make every person sound like they lived happily ever after. And that is just not so with Tesla. It briefly mentioned that he and Thomas Edison didn’t get along, but nothing about Edison stealing his work, or that Tesla died early and pretty poor. He was remembered as a quack and a crazy, instead of the brilliant mind he was. I wish this book had touched on this just a little. Not all people have a happily ever after and this series needs to stop trying to make it seem like they do.

This was sweet. I love that the illustrator chose a mixed-race adult and child. I love this because it can be used by various types of families, including temporary ones where adults want to show the kids that they deserve kindness, and they are there when they are needed. This book was a joy. I think it would be used frequently as both a standard picture book and as a board book.
NO No NO – too much god. The Bible says, etc. Please do not mention accomplished people of different faiths and ascertain that God helped them acquire their dreams. Just no!

This is a fun beginning reader graphic novel. The story is simple and easy to follow with lots of repeated words, like pancakes. Weenie is a dachshund who is over excited and forgets things. Things like not wake Bob on a weekend, or that he sold all of Bob’s furniture at a garage sale. This book has some great laughs. Even reluctant readers will want to keep turning the pages to see what happens next.

This story was cuter than I was expecting. It looks self-published, but a very good job. The illustrations have a wonderful simplicity of a beginning artist. The story has a bit of a cadence and rhymes. Some rhymes are harsh, and the cadence needs a little sandpaper but overall, this was a fun joyful read I would be happy to share with my patrons.

This is just another book in the Little People Big World series. This one is well done, and included some tidbits that might not be known, such as Neil fixing the command module with a pen. This series continues to be an inspiration to kids and I can’t wait to see what they do next.

King and king is a book like Prince and Knight in that the Prince has to marry to carry on the throne. A variety of princesses are paraded in front of him, but he falls for the brother of one, a prince. They get married and live happily ever after. I think the reason that this book is not as heard of as Prince and Knight, even though it has been around since 2000, are the illustrations. The best illustration in the book is the cover. Some of the pictures are just not appealing. And it is because of this, that even thought I am against Banning Books, I would not buy this one for my collection.

Just as excellent as the first book. The land of the Shadow King is dark, and dreary, and monsters roam. But after being crowned Kings the Prince and Knight set off to fight this darkness and chase it from their realm. However, in a bad battle the knight almost drowns, but his loving prince rescues him. This is seen by the Shadow King who comes out from hiding to tell his story and find his rainbow. This book was so good. It is a great metaphor on how seeing others being able to live the happy you were denied can help bring the happy back and find the right place for one if life. As with the first book the illustrations are bright, colorful, and amazing.
