This middle grade graphic novel is interesting. It flows well but is a tad bit wordy. It’s about a gal who runs the school newspaper in elementary school and her strive to find a good story. She’s tired of cafeteria stories and decides that she’s going to hunt for the cryptid everybody thinks is hiding in the locker room. The story is relatively short and easy, and it works, but great literature it’s not. It will not be here in 20 years so enjoy it while it is

This isn’t bad for an elementary graphic novel. Stick and stone friends and they get into trouble because they want a life of adventure. In a way this reminds me of Fraggle rock without the hilarity. I enjoyed their adventures but it’s not something I think I would want to read the entire series of

This is a “make a circle around”  book. It’s supposed to bring old fashion folk telling to modern story times. This story is about a bat that wants to join one of the two baseball teams. One is filled with birds and one is filled with mammals. Bat does not fit. Eventually the two teams learn that the bat has a purpose. I like the illustrations in this book. They are different from modern norms. This folktale hails from Native American indigenous  peoples, and that is felt in the artwork. Overall, the book works but it’s not one I would gravity gravitate towards again and again
relaxing fast-paced

This board book was simply lovely. One of the things the author did well was for each thing of calmness they also had the animal that matched the letter and what they came up with for x with a fox and the point of calm that they use just worked so well. This is a book I would put on my shelf both personally and my library because I think it was that well done

This book was adorable. The rhymes are spot on the cadence flows nicely and the illustrations are a joyful, colorful read. This book is about a child’s wish to brush the hair of all creatures, in particular a bear. This child finds a bear that actually likes their hair brushed. This book was fun, it was cute, and could be read over and over and over again.

Once again most of this story is missing. However there is a bit of an entry. This one could be worth checking out the entire book of. A college professor is saddened or disturbed by the fact that his charm didn’t work on a student. So, he creates this drug that will make anybody fall in love. He’s about to give a paper on it and a student is sent to him who is forcefully given the medication.  Then the things between him and the professor go from there. This is meant to be a male/male erotic graphic novel. I can see where it is leading but I don’t agree with the non-consent thing. That’s where the drug comes in, as it takes away consent or makes you consent when you might not really want. So while it seems interesting, at the same time I wish the consent line wasn’t crossed, and for that I won’t be checking out the full story
dark slow-paced

Once again there’s only part of the story. This at least has flow. We jump in into the middle of these two guys that apparently work together and are having a relationship, but one has fears of having a male/male relationship. It goes nowhere and does nothing. It gives you the happy ending but nothing that leads up to that ending. I have no desire treat a full version to see what comes of it.
dark emotional tense slow-paced

What the hell did I just read? This is not a full graphic novel it’s a preview but it’s there’s not enough there to preview it. It seems like random pages put together that doesn’t really give you much of the story. What it appears to be is that the one guy is being haunted by a five hundred-year-old dead guy who must master these 48 sex tricks to pass on. But there is assault and missing consent. I did not enjoy this at all, and I have no desire to pick up the full book and figure out what the hell’s going on.
informative

The chicks are back and taking readers on a bilingual journey through the seasons.  This book is like the rest of the series.  It’s cute, it gets it point across and babies will love them.
lighthearted medium-paced

Another lift the flap board book from this creator. It was cute as the reader follows Kiki telling herself she may not be able to but she is going to try! This book is presented in English and Spanish and great for beginning little toddlers to chew on and enjoy story of.
