A wonderful fast paced story from start to finish with charming characters and plenty of whimsical mystery. I adored this book and look forward to it's sequel!

I have loved this series from start to finish, didn't want to put this book down, but also I didn't want this adventure to end.

There is so much representation across the whole of this series, the different islands, their belief's, their shared history. Love, loss, endurance. This series has everything I adore, deep characters with complex emotions and flaws. Adventure, persevering throughout. And best of all, dragons. Magnificent dragons.

I cannot recommend this series enough.

Les Mis but in space!

I can't express how much I adored this book, my heart. I am a mess of emotions. This story is told from multiple perspectives but Chatine is my favourite character and I will root for her until the end of the stars. All the characters are well written, complex with beautiful interwoven traits, but there is just something about Chatine that draws you in from the first page and keeps you enthralled.

Mystery, action, betrayal, love, despair, heartache. What more could you ask for? The sequel can't come quick enough.

A phenomenal story about the magic of stories! I adored it! I sincerely hope that there will be at least one or two more adventures with Tilly in the future!

3/3.5 stars.

Sadly I didn't enjoy this as much as Beasts of Night, perhaps if I'd read them one after the other I would not have been missing any of the magic between the characters. However there was no spark, there was little connection between the characters. I felt more for them all in the previous book.

I really enjoyed the whole concept of how sins can stay with us, and how forgiveness is key to moving on both for the sinner and those they've hurt.

What a finale.

A true roller coaster, emotional, passionate, heart breaking. My heart aches in my chest, as it so often does after finishing anything Jay has had a hand in making. This has been such a bitter yet beautiful ride from Nevernight to Godgrave until we sailed into Darkdawn on a river of blood, no longer sure who we were anymore, but knowing we couldn't turn away even if we wanted to.

I know I'm going to be in the minority here, but I will forever ship Tria not Mash. Yes, all inappropriate puns intended in the girls ship name. Tric deserved better gentle friends. He deserved so much more. I was all for Ash in the first books, but with each book I loved her less, and I loved him more. Her love was selfish, his was not.

'Byss and blood though - this was so good.

Fast paced action with a bittersweet ending.

Westworld meets Disneyland!

A moving and complex story of emotions and trust, centred on what makes us real. What makes us human. I adored every second of this and couldn't put it down, the idea of artificial intelligence is one that has always fascinated me and Anna is written so well in this. Her journey of self discovery, her awakening, is so relatable that you often forget that she is in fact meant to be machine not man. I loved it.

A fantastic entry book to the creepy and the paranormal for middle grade readers. I really enjoyed the dynamic between the main characters. I wish there was a little more of Walter's history put in. But other than that it was a fantastic, witty story.

4.5 stars.

It doesn't quite get the full five stars because there was a few parts near the end that niggled me. However this is a deeply rich, dark and cultural story wrapped in a magical bow, and I loved the twists and turns that it took. I loved that the main character had her flaws and showed growth throughout the book.
